Más allá de TAM y UTAUT: Reconfiguración de la adopción Fintech a través de los principios de Edgar Morin

Keywords: Fintech adoption, Digital finances, Complexity theory, Edgar Morin, UTAUT2 Model

Abstract

This article analyzes the adoption of financial technologies in the informal economies of Mexico and Latin America, challenging the limitations of traditional linear causality models such as TAM and UTAUT. Using a methodology of theoretical synthesis and conceptual transposition, the determinants of adoption are reinterpreted in light of the principles of Edgar Morin’s complex thought: dialogical, recursive, and holographic. The results show that adoption is not a passive or symmetrical act, but rather an emergent and cybernetic process. Dialogism reveals the tension between algorithmic agility and distrust of banks; recursivity highlights coevolution and “gaming” tactics between users and algorithms; and the hologramatic principle demonstrates that individual microtransactions reflect the entirety of the financial system. The study concludes with recommendations for adaptive regulation and platform design oriented toward financial well-being.
